Leo,

do you know the first release of this song? Should be before 1961-1962

Gracias Leo, I asked you because I thought, by mistake, that Prieto was spanish.

I would add the original and the two covers but without the date of the first release.....

La novia

Added several versions, still searching info about original release in Spanish language. Well, it's definitely sung by Antonio Prieto, Joaquin brother.

Can anybody give a hand?

Antonio Prieto is Chilean, his brother, Joaquin wrote several songs for him. The first recording of La novia appears to be in 1961, in Italy.

Hope this helps.

There is another website that details his career chronologically. Here it states that he first sang the song on a TV show in Santiago toward the end of 1959 with much success, then went on to make a recording in Mexico following that sucees, thus 1960?? The movie followed the recording. Here is the link (it has a translation button) Also a link to the last scene in the movie, where he is singing it.

P.S. Why does it have to be BEFORE 1961-62??
