I've been following the development of that since it was announced. I'll actually be surprised if it ever gets built.

Sorry about the first link, I forgot it was behind a paywall. Anyway the developer just got FAA approval (the site is about 10 miles directly west of Orlando's airport). He plans to have the site plans ready for the county commission early next year. Too bad they dropped plans for the restaurant at the top of the tower.

I'm still not holding out hope. They originally got FAA approval back in 2015 and that approval was extended into 2017, but didn't get renewed because construction never started on it. It looks interesting, but this is taking a lot longer than they were originally saying it would take when it was first announced in 2013.

Well, the first article I linked states that they submitted an FAA application eight months ago, and the article was written 3 days ago. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
