The SecondHandSongs Radio Show

Hey all,

I just wanted to let you know all about a new radio show I've been working on, in conjunction with the site. The SecondHandSongs Radio Show launches next week, airing on radio stations in the US, UK & the Netherlands (with hopefully more soon). It will also be available to listen to via MixCloud.

I'm going to be playing a range of cover versions, from those which are hits in their own right to hidden gems, foreign language covers, songs people don't realise were covers (although you probably will!) and more. We focus in on one or two songs a week and bring you the story of the song (The Cover Story), as well as creating a new “Cover Chain” each week, where we try to link different cover versions together.

I really like how you got the playlists linked to the performance page to SHS. Brilliant!

Oh, I hope you will think about adding a jazz tune to your playlists. But I am sure that is down the road.

The final version of Episode 1 has gone live on MixCloud last night (fixed the issue of me being too quiet), plus it was emailed out to the 15 different radio stations that have now signed up to broadcast the show. I'm getting more syndication requests every day at the moment!

A mailing to anounce this new show has just been sent to 2.000 SHS members.

Regarding an RSS feed, that's not something I'm able to do currently. It would mean an expensive music license to be able to release as a podcast, whereas MixCloud take care of licensing themselves.

What I am trying to do is add the show on Anchor, where I can publish it to Spotify. But I'm having issues with that at the moment, which are being investigated by Anchor. So hopefully I'll be able to add the shows there soon.
