A problem with Evita

I don't know why "Don't cry for me Argentina" and "Oh what a circus" from Evita are both under the name of the first. They are two separate songs. "Don't cry..." is the act II and "Oh what..." is in the first. In the original album of the show "Don't cry..." is track one in side 3 and "Oh what..." is track two in side 1.

There are many performances of "Oh what a circus" in releases where "Don't cry for me Argentina" is absent".

I'm bringing this up because I was blocked from submitting a cover for Ray McVay - Oh what circus", track 13 of the release, because I had already posted "Don't cry for me Argentina" track 7 of the same release.

There's an open error report about exactly this issue Tunesmith , with Bastien walt and VirileVagabond all participating - Case #120669.

In your case above, are both of the performances instrumentals? If they are, then I understand why you wouldn't be able to submit both, as they share the same melody.

It's set up that way because the two share a common melody. Bastien can explain better since he added the work.

They're both instrumentals, so I assume "Oh what a circus" has no chance.

Exactly Tunesmith we don’t permit two versions of the same work by the same artist. It would be fine to mention as a comment once the first version is processed.
