Why isn't site in form format?

One question: why are contributions done in a free-form message which needs to follow a specified format rather than simply having the site set up as fillable forms with set category fields such as Composer, Original artist, Cover Artist, Medium, Track Title, Album Title, Version notes, etc.

Surely this would be a much easier way to run this?

I've a number of covers to contribute but after spending some time going through the facts I've felt it just isn't worth the time.

We are actually working on this. The idea has been in the fridge for a while though, because we had other major changes that would have impacted it.
