I remember hearing this song when I was a little girl, in the late 70's. No Doubt's version is a cover, but I can't find the original artist. That's why I came looking on this site. Anyone know?

When I first heard the song, I was also convinced this was a cover. It sounded so incredibly familiar. But after all those years, I guess I'll have to accept it really is an original
