This is a work first performed by Trixie Smith, which has several covers. Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty tracking down information on the songwriters. I have seen the credits given as "Gundy" and "House", but I can find a first name for neither one -- let alone any biographical information. I'd appreciate any further information anybody may have.

Just a thought: as it is a song about drugs use, the writers may have chosen to hide their identities...

The Catalog of Copyright Entries lists a work titled "I'm Mellow, Jack, I'm Mellow", which I'm assuming is the same song, with the following credits: music by Wade Boykin and words by J. Edward Haycraft.

Perhaps this helps..

Thanks. I'll see if I can track down a audio of the work you reference to ascertain if it is the same work.

I couldn't find even one audio under "I'm Mellow, Jack, I'm Mellow", nor have I found even one instance where "Jack, I'm Mellow" was credited to Boykin and Haycraft.
