La Marseillaise & All You Need Is Love

Since it's not already noted for a famous performance, I didn't want to file an error report, but....


Is it my imagination or does All You Need Is Love (and similarly arranged covers) open with a portion of La Marseillaise …? I checked for the element in the comments after listening to All You Need Is Love …, which opens with the same element. I'm sure not all covers under the work has this element....

It isn't. That's a pretty well-known fact I think. It's even mentioned in the Wikipedia article for the song: "On the Beatles' recording, the song starts with the intro to the French national anthem, "La Marseillaise", and contains elements from other musical works, such as Glenn Miller's 1939 hit "In the Mood". ".


I haven't actually heard any covers of it (unless you count Bob Rivers' hilarious "All You Need Is Elves"), so I don't know if these features are copied in the covers or not.


We should at least make a note about it, if not make the appropriate sample adaptations.

At performance #1596, I suppose the recording was added long before the current element guidelines and no one ever revisited the matter. Letting this thread serve as the error report....
