Hi.

I have been working on providing all information I can on some Spanish artists and while researching for covers I found an artist called Laura Naranjo.

She doesn't have a record label and she only releases cover songs online.

At first I wouldn't consider her to submit her to the database as she would qualify for Web Cover at best. However, she has a Spotify page and there she has her music in singles and albums that are all self released under the "Laura Naranjo Music" label.

She also appears in YouTube Music and in Deezer where I assume she also submitted her music and albums herself.

Another point of interest is that she appears registered as an artist in the Mexican SACM website, which is linked from SHS as a resource https://secondhandsongs.com/page/EditorBookmarks and that I have been using in my research. That probably gives her a different status than other self released artists.

My question is if this kind of self-releases are under the scope or the project and should be submitted or otherwise they should be ignored and only posted as web covers if there is an opportunity?

Thanks

Yes any commercially released cover version is eligible for the database in principle. We have lots of artists as you’ve described. So feel free to submit any covers you like
