Why are not all versions shown in the overview of a song

I'm doing weekly research on covers of a song, last week "Hey Joe" (Jimi Hendrix), mostly in Youtube. SHS is very helpful with that, but sometime a lot of cover-versions are missing. I try to add as much as I can, but sometimes I get the message that the version already is there, and it wasn't when I looked for it.

Also, I though I had added "Hey Joe" by Love Canal, but it didn't show. The search showed it wasn't there, so I though I was wrong. But when I tried to add it I got the message that it already was in the database. So I searched again: no results...

I'm quite baffled.

SS... First it helps if you include relevant internal links for the works, matters, etc. in question: Hey Joe, Where You Gonna Go

Second, I checked for a "Love Canal" artist on site or any open submission and got no hits.

Third, I started a new submission for "Hey Joe" by "Love Canal" and got no warning message,

That typically has never stopped me from submitting a normal cover.

Oh well, the proper process is to file an error report on the web cover.

But shouldn't it show up in a search, being a web cover?

Just another reason to add to my list of why I hate web covers.

Since I didn't get an error message when I put "Love Canal" in the performing artist field, I'm guessing that you didn't get one until finishing the form and hitting "Submit". I would not be a happy camper....

Yes, that happened a few times...

This time I got an early warning because I used the same Youtube URL, but not always that lucky.
