Romantic musical comedy with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The cast featured Fred Astaire as Guy Holden, Claire Luce as Mimi, Luella Gear as Hortense, Erik Rhodes as Tonetti and Roland Bottomley as Pratt.It was Fred Astaire's last Broadway show and featured the hit song "Night and Day" in which Astaire danced with co-star Claire Luce. It opened at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston. Its Broadway opening was on November 29, 1932 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
The 1934 movie version The Gay Divorcee also featured Fred Astaire.
