Puttin' on the Ritz by Carl Wayne

Yes, the same Carl Wayne as the one out of The Move. This is what he spent his time doing in the 80s: he was a regular co-star alongside Rod Hull in the Boggle's Kingdom segment of the variously named Pink Windmill programmes. This one is from Emu at Easter, and it sees Carl in the role of Odd Job John singing Irving Berlin's Puttin' On the Ritz. I think it's the only song he ever sang solo in its entirety on the show, but he often chipped in and added a touch of class to parts of others.

First broadcast on Friday, 20th April, 1984, and repeated on Saturday, 29th March, 1986. Many thanks to Sally for lending me this tape.

(Please remember that this is an off-air VHS recording, so don't go expecting 1080p HD quality. I'm fairly certain that this video isn't commercially available, and I've uploaded it for its historic interest only. That said, if you are a copyright holder and object, please don't hesitate to contact me.)
