Crying Song by Douglas Mitchell

I recorded this cover of The Crying Song (from the album More - 1969) without the intention of putting a video together or even putting it out, so forgive its shortcomings as my attention to detail wasn't in top form. I did this for myself in my home studio and was immediately inspired to tell the story of the Floyd in pictures.

Pink Floyd is a complicated band with rich complexity to its story. It was only possible because of the genius of Syd Barrett, and after Syd lost his grip, simply replacing him with his friend David Gilmour became a good analogy of how the band handled everything else from disagreements to success. When Roger found his voice he never looked back - only causing resentment within the other members and a rift between the two parties.

Amidst all this turmoil, some of the greatest music of our lifetime was created and I consider Pink Floyd to be the masters of the Album as an art form. I have been forever influenced by them and I will always be in their debt for that. This is my tribute to the band in all of its incarnations.
