Yes Sir, That's My Baby

Written-By -- Irving Berlin, Producer, Arranged By -- Jack Nitzsche,

This was the first issue of this curious Phil Spector soundalike 'wall of sound' rendition of the classic 'Yes Sir, That's My Baby'. Featured on the recording are Brian Wilson, Jackie De Shannon, Sonny and Cher and Darlene Love.
This has to be the strangest version of "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" that anyone will ever hear. Nitzsche has imitated Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" here, and the many vocalists featured sound like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. An interesting experiment, but this hardly translated into any sort of commercial success. It was re-released the same year on Reprise Records, and again in 1967 on York Records. The b-side, "900 Quetzals" is a very undistinguished piano romp.
