Oldie but goodie!
I first heard this song thanks to the outstanding Adele, but went back and listened to the original singer, Bonnie Raitt. The song is heart wrenching and the arrangement is so free that you can definitely change it up by making it crazy with riffs, but I think the beauty of the song is that it stays "stagnant" even when it gets to the climax of the song. Why? Because she's realized that nothing is gonna change. She can't make him love her no matter how much she loves him. There doesn't seem to be a true resolution even when we want it to. I thought that was something I took away from Bonnie Raitt's version.
Hope you enjoy!
Happy New Year & may 2013 be a year full of joy filled hearts.. let's learn from our heartache and just grow!
