On My Own by Jennifer Chung

I grew up watching Disney movies so it has always been a dream of mine to live in a world where I could just break out into song. Music has been my form of expression and I had the opportunity to partake in musicals in high school as well as study theater in college.I wanted to focus more on musical theater but a lot of music opportunities came thanks to YouTube and trying to graduate in 3 years to save money really shortened the span I studied theater.. However! I really learned to appreciate the craft and EVERY aspect of it: lights, costumes, sound, etc.

Lea Salonga is one of my inspirations in LIFE. Not only is she a wonderful representation of an Asian-American performer, but she has accomplished so much with her beautiful voice & strong performances. She was the singing voice of Jasmine (Aladdin) and Mulan but was the original Kim for Miss Saigon the Musical. She also played Eponine in Les Miserables and later as Fantine in Les Miserables as well!

It is one of my dreams to be on Broadway one day! I would LOVE to play Kim in Miss Saigon and rumor has it there is a movie production in the works.. ahahah a girl can dream but just singing my heart out whenever I have the chance.
