What all Kenny Rogers & The First Edition fans have been waiting for. The first (and to my mind, superior) version of the song that Kenny would later take and do for his breakthrough album, The Gambler (and then Jimmy Buffett would take and make a hit of his own a few years later.)
The footage is from the TV special Rolling Thru' New Zealand which chronicled one of the final tours for the band before their breakup in 1975. The song Makin' Music for Money, and the subsequent album (never released in America) was about Kenny and the group's love for New Zealand which forever treated them like royalty even when their sales and popularity went down in the U.S. This album is difficult to find (I had to go all the way to Berlin, Germany to find a 45 single release of this song.)
