"Little Sir Echo" was first copyrighted in 1917 by Laura R. Smith and J.S. Fearis. In 1939, a revised version (with additional verse and revised arrangement) was copyrighted by Adele Girard and Joe Marsala. We haven't been able to find any recordings of the original version, but the revised version was quickly recorded by several artists and became one of the hits of 1939.
