According to some writers the melody of 'Tulpen aus Amsterdam' is very familiar to that of the 1940 song 'Tempo' by the 'Orquesta Tipica Victor'. Conceived in 1953 by singer Klaus Neumann, who visited the flower fields in 'Keukenhof' (Holland) after his show in the Amsterdam Tuschinski theater. Gerhard Wendland was supposed to cut it first, but as he was ill that day. Belgian singer Jean Walter took over, with both a German and a Dutch version, 'Tulpen uit Amsterdam'.
