(In English: The Old Maiden) A tale of a spinster trying in vain to attract a suitor. The date above refers to the booklet "Wyth Gân Werin (Eight Folk Songs)" by Enid Parry, in which she published the complete traditional first verse and added three verses of her own that have since become an established part of the song. The story ends optimistically with the maiden's heart leaping as a man speaks with her on the way home from the local town fair.
