Translating to "You ancient, you free", this is inofficial the Swedish national anthem. It was never installed as such by any kind of political decision, so the status is solely based on tradition.
Richard Dybeck wrote the lyrics to a traditional song of his home district of Västmanland. Also called "Sång till Norden" (song to the Nordic) and opening with the words "Du gamla, du friska" (You ancient, you hale), the song was first performed on November 13, 1844, at "Kirsteinska huset" in Stockholm.
