Better known as "Mellom bakkar og berg". A very popular song in Norway, by some regarded as a second national hymn. The poem was first published in "Symra", but was edited several times by Aasen, and his final version of the poem was published in 1875, with five verses. There are two melodies existing for the lyrics. The first one was composed by Ludvig M. Lindemann, and is the one most used today, and the other has the same melody as "Dei vil alltid klaga og kyta", that Aasen preferred. The three verses that Aasen removed from his final version is sometimes also sung.
