Commonly known as "No More Auction Block". A Negro spiritual, first published (with music) in "Slave Songs of the United States", edited by William Francis Allen, Charles Pickard Ware and Lucy McKim Garrison. It originated in Canada, where many African-Americans escaped after the Slavery Abolition Act 1833.
