This American folk song is a bit of a mystery. Alledgedly, Paul Clayton recorded Mary Bird McAllister in his log cabin (Brown's Cove) in '58/'59. It's supposed to be registred at the Archive Of Folk Culture of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC under number AFS 11,866-11,868 (unconfirmed). There are McAllister recordings by Clayton filed under AFC 1961/004, but no song titles are available. Also, it's potentially the same song that was published in 1923 "Eight Negro Songs (From Bedford Co., Virginia) as "Who's Gon Bring You Chickens" (unconfirmed).
