- When studying veterinary medicine in Berlin in the late 1960s, US part-time musician Gary Bolstad a. o. performed this song in folk clubs. German singer/songwriter Hannes Wader picked up on it and created German lyrics, that had nothing to do with Bolstad's, "Heute hier, morgen dort". Back in the US, Bolstad translated those German lyrics to "Day to Day, Town to Town".
