- Late 1800s African-American spiritual and Pentecostal hymn recorded in 1927 by Blind Lemon Jefferson (as Deacon Bates) and also by the Norfolk Jubilee Quartet. The Carters learned the traditional Pentecostal hymn version arranged by R.E. Winsett in a 1908 hymnal "Songs of Pentecostal Power"
