- "Buy a Dog" is a 2005 song by the Bay Area band, Luce. It is noteworthy for being involved in a copyright lawsuit filed by four members of Luce against Selena Gomez over the melody used in her 2010 hit song "A Year Without Rain", originally only credited to Toby Gad and Lindy Robbins. As a result the four co-writers of "Buy a Dog" are now co-credited on Gomez's song. Oddly, GEMA only credits three of the four Luce band members for the co-write of the original "Buy a Dog", however all of the registries credit the four members on Gomez's registry. So to make the enries flow properly, SHS is correctly properly crediting all four on "Buy a Dog" as well.
