Joe Hill wrote "My Last Will" the night before his execution and handed it through the bars to a prison guard. It was first published in the March 1916 edition of the IWW "Little Red Songbook". Eventually, Ethel Raim set the poem to music and named the song "Joe Hill's Last Will". Swede Mats Paulson's song uses the original title. The first lines are: "My will is easy to decide For I have nothing to divide My kin don't need to weep and moan Moss does not cling to a rolling stone"
