Originally called "Later Alligator" and loosely based on the Guitar Slim song Later for You Baby. Charles reportedly wrote "Later Alligator" in 20 minutes, after his piano player, Edwin LeBlanc, said "See you later, alligator" on leaving a bar, and one of the patrons replied, "After a while, crocodile."
