Some sources claim the children song known in Dutch as "Altijd Is Kortjakje Ziek" to be the older version, but in the 1700 Pieter de Vos Collection "Altijd is Kortjakje ziek" had originally a different tune: coincidentally also a French tune; "Je suis Madelon Friquet".
