- The melody goes back to a Venetian traditional, known as either 'Polenta e baccalà' or 'La mula de Parenzo'. Some versions use the title 'Tutti mi chiamano bionda'. The Wikipedia page about the song says it's a traditional without a known author or original version. There are countless versions in Italian (or Venetian dialects) on YouTube.
