- Folk singer and banjo player born Rockwood, Tennessee. She studied music in Washington, D,C, and in Paris. In the 1930s she performed in New York City. She recorded for the Library of Congress both solo and with her sister, Penelope. In 1937 she married Dr. Hugh Mason Hicks. She died in Princeton, New Jersey at the age of 92.
