- Radio orchestra based in Hamburg and affiliated to the public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). It was founded as the "Orchester des NWDR Hamburg" (affiliated to Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk) in 1945 and renamed to "NDR Sinfonieorchester" in 1955/56. Since April 2016 the orchestra is residing at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg as the "NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester".
