Comments: Popular band leader in the Midwest, calling his group the "biggest little band in the world." He traveled to Florence, Italy with a group called the Lido-Venice Dance Orchestra where their audiences experienced improvised jazz solos performed live for the first time. Later in life, Harl Smith moved to Idaho where his band played in Sun Valley for many years.
