- The Vassar Girls were a group of eight women instrumentalists and vocalists formed around 1900. They completed five years of literary and musical education before their first public performance. The Vassar Girls were noted for both solo and ensemble work including a vocal quartette, a double quartette, a sextette of saxophones, a septette of wood wind instruments and many others.
