Short-lived old-time string quartet that Uncle Dave Macon assembled to compete with the Skillet Lickers. The quartet consisted of Uncle Dave Macon (vcl, banjo), Sam McGee (guitar), Kirk McGee (fiddle) and Mazy Todd (fiddle). The quartet was specifically assembled to record a number of sides for Vocalion in May 1927.

NOTE: George Wilkerson also had an old-time string quartet called the "Fruit-Jar Drinkers" that were regular performers at the Grand Ole Opry but never recorded.
