- Lyric coloratura soprano, who played the title role in the first production of the opera “The Ballad of Baby Doe" by the American composer Douglas Moore. Dolores Wilson played the title role in the work’s world premiere in Central City, Colorado in 1956. Miss Gabriele starred as Baby Doe on the second night and in many subsequent performances that season. She died in 2019 at the age of 95.
