The Sisters were originally a trio, consisting of the three oldest sisters -- Anne (1923-2004), Gina (born in 1925 and as of now, the sole surviving sister), and Gloria (1928-1997) -- when the group was first noticed in 1934 due to their father's efforts. By 1944. the act included younger sisters Terri (1930-1999) and Arlene (1933-2013). The sisters also had one younger brother, who was never part of the act,

In 1946, the sisters landed a weekly role on the popular radio program, "The Fred Allen Show", which they had for approximately four years from 1945 into 1949. The sisters also appeared as guests on several television shows in the early years of that medium.
