- Guitarist. Hancoff initially played folk music in the 1960s in the Washington, D.C.- Baltimore area, but he began transcribing Scott Joplin rags for piano, and switched his focus to ragtime for guitar, ultimately moving to New Orleans jazz and other jazz styles. Hancoff plays fingerpick style.
