Born in Budapest he grew up in Hannover. He was a singer, impersonator and cabaret artist.
Since he was Jewish like his contemporaries Ralph Erwin, Willy Rosen and Fritz Löhner-Beda he left Germany in 1933 to flee to Vienna and after the "Anschluss" of Austria in 1938 to Prague. He was arrested after the Germans had invaded Prague in 1940 and taken to Sachsenhausen, the concentration camp, where he hanged himself.
