Error description

Ernie Davidson was my father. His date of death is incorrect. It is 2 April 1996. Could you also complete his 'Real name' which is

Ernest Raymond Davidson. I can see that information and photos relating to my father have come from a story I wrote for the Australian Songwriters association in 2014. I am happy with this and I would like to help complete all the listings you have for

Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn with what I have. The birth/death years for Ken Taylor are 1917-1989 There are some corrections to be made on the page for Dick Jurgens and His Orchestra recording of Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn. This version on red Columbia label was recorded in April 1948 and released in June 1948. It was released in Australia and New Zealand in 1949. From memory, the Australian recording is on a black Columbia label. I have all the recordings of this song, including digital files. The 1947 listing of Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn by Lou Campara and His Serenaders should be marked as an Australian recording. The Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers and Dick Jurgens Orchestra are USA recordings. I would be happy to supply better images of my father and labels if you can use them. The Captain Stubby and Dick Jurgens recordings are royalty free from 1 January 2019. I will be happy to make a little movie using the digital files I have to add to the pages. The Australian 1947 Lou Campara recording is already royalty free so I can do that one also.

Back to my story from 2014 for the Australian Songwriters Association in 2014. The following year, on 19 January 2015, I came across an expired ebay auction of a 78rpm recording of Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn by Dale Evans (movie star, singing star and wife of singing cowboy Roy Rogers) I was shocked as I had no idea she had recorded it. After much research I was able to determine that the recording was made at Majestic Studios in December 1947 (same studio, month and year as Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers) It was unissued by Majestic and the Majestic track was released on the Varsity label in 1949. The label advises "with Orchestra accomp" It is Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers providing the backing music for the Dale Evans track. it was two years later that I became aware that the recording on the 78rpm is not the same as the recording on subsequent releases on 45rpm EP, 33rpm LP, CD and Digital album. Dale Evans recorded Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn for a second time in 1949. The backing music by Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers from the 1947 Majestic recording has been rejigged to accommodate the 1949 recording which was released on 45rpm EP on the Royale label. I contacted the publishing company and they advised me that they did not know Dale Evans had ever recorded Kiss-Kiss-Kissin' in the Corn and despite being released on 78rpm, 45rpm,33rpm, CD and iTunes digital where it has been since 2004 and is still for sale there now, they have never collected any royalties for 70 years now. They say they can not do anything about it. That was a disappointing response. The worst of it is that neither Ernie Davidson nor Ken Taylor ever got to hear either of the Dale Evans recordings. I think this is outrageous. I have both of the Dale Evans recordings and I can supply an image of the 78rpm label. From the release of the LP 'Dale Evans Sings' in 1956, the song has been retitled 'Kiss Kiss Kissin' in the Korn' I do not know why this was so. Of all the recordings the Captain Stubby is the best by far. The first Dale Evans recording is a good second. There are three Australian recordings. I have a much cleaner file for Dick Jurgens recording. I will be happy to supply a movie if you wish to consider replacing the one you have uploaded. Please let me know how I can get images and files to you. I think you are involved in a great project and I am very willing to assist. Pleas let me know. Thank You Lin
