Maybe if you find the album it was released.. the liner notes are usually very useful.

"It's not printed anywhere on it. I should know this, because my band was on this label back when it was still functional. I called Tim Farout and left a message today, but I haven't heard back yet. I remember him doing the layout for this at the same time that ours was being done, which if I'm not mistaken would mean it probably came out in {+1996+}."
I'll scour the jacket myself once the item arrives, but I doubt I'll be able to turn up much more.

Ok for the release year, I'm convinced.
But what I mean when I talk about the inlay is that usually the authors of songs are mentioned. So maybe you can get back to guy you've been corresponding with and ask him which auhors are mentioned. (maybe he has a scan? some forum members send me scans of booklets/sleeves) This way we will be able to doublecheck that it is indeed a Duran Duran cover.

As best I can tell from the editors' notes on the original submission, the only open matter is a cover of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer by Less Than Jake .... I took a shot at clearing this one, and I suspect it was originally released on:
