"Was unable to track to an original release"...............

Really, VV? Disocgs would have been there for you!

You are being overly critical, as I noted that album in the original submission as an "Appears On". As I was unsure that compilation was the original release, I submitted as unknown. In the end, I not only provided the original release, but the translator as well (in the autogen notes).

This is at least the second recent instance where you have missed important info in the original submission. You know I love my thunder stealer, but are you not reading the entire post prior to processing? I try to be consistent in presentation to make it easier on the editors. Should I adjust my format?

Whoa, was the single added on site while I was writing this response? Per discogs, that 7" was added ~1 month ago, so wasn't there when I did my research.

VV, I will forget about your first two paragraphs, since the third paragraph might be an explanation for this "fair" submission of yours.

Furthermore, of course I read the entire post and the compilation album you refer to is a 1987 release of Finnish hits of 1961................ Not really "important info", wouldn't you agree?

And instead of relying on your "autogenerated" info, you might make more use of PRO databases like - in case of a Finnish releases - Suomen äänitearkisto (Database of The Finnish Institute of Recorded Sounds) of fono.fi to give you better information of a performances "autogenerated" like this................

This case was just not well-researched and you know as well as I do: when your cases are I, will give them a maximal score, but not here.

Have a nice weekend.

Just to clarify:

a) Ratings aren't that important to me but I do notice when an editor isn't consistent or makes a comment that seems unwarranted, etc.

b) When I first reviewed after processing, for some reason it appeared that you went with the compilation as the original and not the single. I may have been confused by the autogen cover art, I may have just been tired (it was ~4AM local at the time), or there was a possibility that you changed the original release (in this case while I was responding). Such a rapid change is not an unprecedented event. This confusion or revision was the genesis of my original reaction.

c) The 1987 release was important info in this case (at least in my mind) as that was the origin of the autogen, I could not readily find a secondary video, and that was the earliest I could find at the time of research. Sometimes those eventually turn out to be the original official release.

d) I do not read Finnish (nor really any language besides English), and those PRO databases are not effectively readily available resources for me. I have never used them before, so my not doing so here is not a distinguishing factor.

e) Your "Disocgs would have been there for you" is conclusive evidence that you had not considered the possibility that the single was entered into that database after both my original research and later submission. I can almost guarantee that I have made the same mistake, so that's an easy thing to do. (My finding subsequently added entries is likely a source of a material number of error reports that I file.)

The bottom line is that I researched this one as well as I normally do (i.e. reasonable efforts using readily available sources) and typically add some commentary when the info found is less than I'd like (as in this case). I wasn't mad at your response, but rather surprised that you had defaulted to the presumption that I had slacked off on this one instead of giving the benefit of the doubt based on prior experience....

Of course I had not defaulted to this "slacking off" presumption...............

I am off to Greece tonight for 10 days and we will talk again in October.

Have a nice Sunday.
