History
Do we have a Ron Elliott in the database, and if yes, is it the same guy?
There is a RON ELLIOTT in the data base, but that is not the same person playing Amazing Grace. The Elliott I am referring to is an American steel guitar player that to my knowledge has made two LPs (vinyl)
"Pure American Steel" and "Peace In The Valley" of which both seem to contain the song "Amazing Grace". Since I have only the Peace In The Valley-LP in my collection, I referred to that.

Ok, so here we can potentially make a mistake. Do you have a full name or a birth date to add to the new Ron Elliott page, so that we can clearly make the distinction between both?
I have been trying all possible sources for info on "my" Ron Elliot, but have not been successful. I just found out that there exist even a 3rd album (CD) and believe it or not, Amazing Grace will appear even on that one!
Since his music was available from a Canadian record dealer ( and no where else) it seem possible that Elliot could be a Canadian?
I will continue dig into the problem, since I know a few steel players that may have more info.

Which Ron Elliott is this one:
Why did not Ron Elliots web site pop up in my computer???
Of course this is the Elliott playing "Amazing Grace"!
The Ron Elliott that is already in the data base seem to be California based and have something to with "The Beau Brummels". Sorry I am not familiar with either the group or Mr. Elliott.
Should we call the Tennessee based Elliott: Ron Elliott No. 2?
The question is important to me since I have in my collection at least two bands by name "The Buckaroos" and there are more bands reported from Europe with same name.
Since the original Buck Owens´ Buckaroos more or less disbanded in 1974 it seems like several bands just choosed to called themselves Buckaroos?!
I am sure you have already run into the same problem with other artists like Maxine Brown to take an example from the world of country music and black music.

Should we call the Tennessee based Elliott: Ron Elliott No. 2?
We will call him Ron Elliott [2].
Another question: is his version vocal or instrumental? (I can't find a sound sample to check)
Ron Elliott´s version is Steel guitar instrumental with one verse vocal. According to LP-sleeve all players are listed, and the vocals are given us from "voices". Voices are:
The Jordanaires, Laverna Moore, The Cates Sisters and Dennis Wilson.

Alright, so we'll list it as vocal.
We'll keep the performer just "Ron Elliott", because of the album cover:
Label: Step One Records SOR-0036
Do we have this label in our database?
Step One Records is not in SHS:s data base.
Can I do anything about that?
