I believe this song by Sandie Shaw is a cover but i can't figure out who released it first.

My guess is either Verdelle Smith or Maxine Brown.

The song is credited to Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance. Can someone help?

As far as I can tell, Verdelle Smith did it first, followed by Maxine Brown. 45cat says her version was released in September of 1966, and both sides of the single have Pockriss/Vance songs.
