Does anybody have an idea who the artist is singing this song? I'm pretty sure it's not Marion Maerz

In the sixties many hits of the day were covered on the Tempo [DE] record label in Germany. Often by obscure artists or studio musicians.
You are correct, that this is not the Marion hit version but maybe it is Cora on the 1969 Tempo EP with four covers: http://www.45cat.com/record/4345de & https://www.discogs.com/Various-Sugar-Sugar-Tarata-Ting-Tarata-Tong-Ich-mache-ke…
This Cora is definitely not Cora von dem Bottlenberg (see Cora & Frank), but Cora was not an uncommon name in Germany in those days..............

This looks like it will be difficult. A quick look at Google and Youtube didn't turn up anything. My hope here is to find her last name. That will hopefully get me the rest. Thanks for looking her up.
Edit: Just found it at GEMA. Michael Holm is credited on the release you found. Now, if I could just find info about the artist. Too bad there isn't a video

I'm afraid I don't have much of an idea, either. Those days, there were so many sound-alike and cheapo versions around. Mostly, they were only released on no-name artist/motto compilations issued by Europa et. al (the way we know it from Hallmark's later years, TotP etc., too). Finding out details nearly 50 years later is quite a task...
Actually, the first release of Sugar, Sugar is wrong. It was the B side of her 1969 single "Weit, weit, weit", see discogs , hitparade.ch and 45cat . The title is not right, either, it should be "Sugar - Sugar"... Whoever wants to do the corrections based on the above sources may also take over the 'ownership' from Mop66 aka. Guesswho...
Btw., If Marion (Maerz)' release doesn't get re-dated, Cora's version would become the German original - and, as Thom's links show: the EP is actually a split release with Cora on the A and two more artists on the B side.
PS: The Schlager band Casablanca did an (I think) Holm version in 2011... [[|Listen]] and read...PPS: Just saw that der Oldiesmann added a YT with the single artwork to Sugar, Sugar , yesterday, but didn't go for more...

And we crawl deeper into the rabbit-hole...
Are you going to fix it, or do you want me to do it? I guess I can still edit a performance, even though I have reached my limit.
Edit: Google was not any help. Their algorithms think I'm looking for something sweet to eat, rather than a song. Funny, I even got a link to someone's post about Haribo candies. I remember Mrs. McKenna, my German teacher, bringing in a box of delicious gummi bears. They had to be ordered directly from West Germany back then. They only started selling them in America in the mid-90s.

Had I wanted to do the corrections, I would have done them. But had I done so, I would 'have had' to take the ownership, too. And that I didn't want to, as I've 'had to' do exactly that with quite some of Jens' entries, already. Maybe Thom will be happy to jump in?
I know Google give you candies etc. for "Sugar Sugar" etc., but what did you ask them for?
Of course, gummi bears is good marketing. It sounds both like a pet and yummie - and much better than rubber bears. Haribo macht Kinder froh!

I'll be happy to take ownership of it, especially since you gave me a lead for yet another performance.
My Google search was "Cora sugar sugar", which gave me links to sweet stuff, and some sugar mills (including one in Cora, Texas). I'll generally go about 10 pages deep before I give up. I image-searched the single sleeve, also, and only came up with your link to 45cat.
Hmm, SHS let me take ownership of the performance. Perhaps I should have asked Isa if he wanted it, since he owns the work.

I've just added Casablanca and Sugar Sugar (Engl. Version). Feel free to go ahead with the German (= main) editon the same way.
Besides the 45cat one, Thom also gave discogs, so there are two external links to prove the data and one with sleeve and label pics. What more is needed to add?
Isa added the German adaptation to add Howard Carpendales version, which isn't even the 1st. That's no reason not to take over responsibility for an earlier but orphan release and/or version. Why do you think Isa is a man?

I just hate adding a new artist when I can't find any biographical information about him/her. But I will, if necessary.
I can't add any more performances until Bastien increases my limit.
And the two folks named Isa I have met in my life were both male. Apologies to our Isa!

Not finding sufficient artist info can turn out a drag, but often it's a matter of effort, time and dedication invested.
F. ex., there is a reason why some editors have a ratio of 80+ % artist pictures and others of just 40 %. The ones with a low pic rate are to quite an extend also the ones not providing (sufficient) artist info. And so on.
I'm not familiar with the system of for 'junior editors' limiting the adding of performances. Generally, it does make sense, though, to, until they have proven to comprehend all the systematics, correlations etc. involved, not let them act freely on all levels.
Mostly Isa is short for Isabel(le), a female name, and, except for Bastien and Mathieu, no other editor knows anything about 'our' Isa...

I fixed the release date, and added a link to MusicBrainz to: El condor pasa - Die grossen Erfolge
Edit: changed "grossen" to "großen, as that is how it is spelled on the release.

Some kind of formatting issue. That isn't how I wrote the comment.

Oh, don't bother trying to fix that comment. Apparently that Eszett is messing things up.

I would have done that last night, had I not reached my performance limit. Thanks.

And I'll always have to make sure I don't confuse a ß with a β.
