Thanks for the feedback !
For non-native English language speakers, like myself, the word 'medium' is indeed a bit strange . But for native English-speakers it makes a lot of sense (at least I do think so).
As we've just introduced this new format we're still looking at how our users respond to it, as its main purpose is to get more and better information for our database.
After a while we'll evaluate the results and improve things if necessary. So you'll be seeing these soon enough !
Thanks again & have a nice weekend !

Medium is not commonly used in English for recordings. I've actually seen it used more in European sites. It is a word used internally in SHS.

In the first version of the input form I named it 'Album Title', which excludes other mediums such as single's, EP's (who do often have a title of their own), etc.
We've decided to use Medium instead because it's a more broad term, although it may confuse users (as it does me ).
Perhaps someone knows a better word / wording ?!

So long as SHS uses the term "medium" to describe the recording format, I maintain that this is the term we should use. I SHS is generally going to replace "medium" with some other term, that replacement term should be used. "Medium" is a basic concept to the database, and to the extent its meaning isn't obvious within the context of the database, a user could always consult the Guidelines.
