Same artist recorded both adaptation and cover

I attempted to submit Paul Brandt's cover of C.W. McCall's CB trucker song Convoy, but SHS gives me the "A submission of this work in this language by this performer already exists" because Brandt's later adaptation of Convoy, Christmas Convoy, is already in the database. Is there some way to work around this problem?

Christmas Convoy is on site as a separate work and I assume you are submitting under the root work, so I can't say. What you can do is either wait for a resolution or force a submission by adding [1] to the artist name and explain in the body of the submission....
