A burlesque operette by the composer Paul Lincke after a libretto by Heinrich Bolten-Baeckers. It had its premiere on 2 May 1899 in the Apollo Theater at the southern (seedy) end of Berlin’s Friedrichstraße, famous for its prostitutes. It was starring Robert Steidl, Bianca-Desroches and Maria la Bella. In 1922 extra works were added to the performance. The most famous melodies from "Frau Luna" are "Das macht die Berliner Luft, Luft, Luft", the duett "Schenk mir doch ein kleines bißchen Liebe" (both added in 1922) and the aria "Schlösser, die im Monde liegen".
