- Traditional song that likely derived from 1860s song called "Take Me Home" that evolved into The Sweet Sunny South. "Bright Sunny South" is distinctly different though. Dock Boggs recorded it December 1963. Doc Watson further arranged the lyrics on his 1984 version.
